We already know that the Product Manager is not a manager of any team or group but he/she is the manager of products which he/she develops.

Product is the outcome of all the teams like Product Team, Development Team or Engineering Team, Design Team, Sales and Marketing team, Operation Team, and Customer Support team.

One who works with all the mentioned teams then he/she is the part of a Crossfunctional Team.

The Product Manager works ideally with all the teams of any organization so that he/she could make better coordination with all the teams and leverage the best potential to make the best product. This is the real beauty of the Product Manager. I especially like this because multiple times, I was asked by my manager that because of business requirements, we can not go further. But When I meet with the Product manager then he explained to me the complete picture and then I understand the problem and pertained perfect solutions.

In order to understand the complete product and pertained problems, one has to interact with all the teams and their team members.

Let me bring one story, One developer(engineer) always wants a better system (Computer System) to develop and execute the code.

He has talked with his immediate manager and the manager did not agree with him. There would be several reasons. One reason would be, Manager doesn't understand the problem of the developer.

The second reason would be, there is no good system of better configurations available in the organizations. The third reason could be, Manager doesn't like this developer.

The reasons could be multiple. But the problem is if this problem influences product development then who would be responsible. In this case, the Product is affected and the Product Manager would be responsible for that.

Then, there is one rescuer is available, called Product Manager. The Product Manager would help each team and their team members to solve their problems. This does not mean that that developer directly goes to the Product Manager and asked for help but it's the Product Manager's Job to understand the requirement and needs and help this developer.

If the developer did not get the required system then it would definitely impact the Product design process and it would be seen by the Product Manager. The Product Manager would keep track of all product's progress and if there are any delay or delay situations then proactively he/she has to find the real pain point and convert into a better solution so that it would not create any further delay.

The product Team, Development Team, and Design Team are primarily involved in designing the Product. The sales and marketing team would bring the ideas of sales and how this product performs in the market by their survey and analysis of the market conditions.

The Customer Support team and Operation team would serve the customers and delight them by serving their actual needs.

If the Product Manager would not involve with the cross-functional Team(Development team, Design team, Sales and Marketing team, Operations, and Customer Support team) then he/she could not get the actual pain point.

If one could not understand the actual pain point then the problem would not be addressed well and it increases the probability to fail the product.
