The Product Manager is a jack of all trades. He/She must understand each and every domain and its functionalities. How to coordinate each and every domain(Crossfunctional Domain)
so that each domain could work efficiently. So, it is very important to collect user needs and requirements. These user needs and requirements later converted into product features.
The Product Manager hierarchy always runs with cross-functional teams so that he/she can understand the exact pain point and convert it into great opportunities.
The professional life of the Product Manager is very creative and having ambiguity situations. To overcome the ambiguity, prioritizations play a very important role.
To solve the actual problem, the Product Manager always collects the User Needs and Requirements and always document it. These needs and requirements would be analyzed to understand the real pain points.
The Product Manager analyzed these requirements and land up with some conclusions and bring some ideas for Product Development. Bringing new ideas is a sign of creativity which is backed by the needs and requirements as data.
The Product Manager is often called an "Idea person" because of bringing new ideas. These ideas must be validated for making the best product.
How these User needs and requirements are collected is a complicated task. These are the channels:
1. Talk with the Customer directly.
2. Joins the Clients call.
3. Interact with the Sales team.
4. Join Sales call.
5. Understand the Metrics and their feedback.
6. Talk with the Operation and Customer support team directly.
7. Competitor channel platform
8. Social Media platform
9. Technews update
The Product Manager has to interact individually to collect the actual User needs and Requirements by following the above-mentioned channels. After validation these needs and requirements are
converted into product features that actually make the best product because it fulfills the user needs.
Collecting the User Needs and pertained requirements is difficult to process but after collection, going for the segregation and then analyzing those data thereafter creating the personas and user stories are very difficult and decisive processes.
The complete team helps the Product Manager but the call must be taken by the Product Manager. After all, he is the CEO of the Product. So, User Needs and Requirements are the foremost phases in the Product Development Process.
